great piece. The dress is great and I really like the line pattern texture you use is some areas. What are the dimensions of this, It looks like it must be huge.

I noticed that line screen also - I like it - it's a good adaptation of engraving tech with digital. It might be neat to try making complex needle-scraping type patterns and then erasing out of it - kind of like they used to do rubbing down transfer texture and going back in with electric eraser....
but anyway - ya - i dig the old engraving feel it gives.
great design on the mirror as well! and I can never have enough creepy faces on everything! never!!
maybe if you're sitting around feeling experimental - it might be neat to try a less saturated look? a bit more Rocking the Rackham?

Some nice details popped out in this final version. I really dig it but I miss the bird head lurking in more shadow. Looking forward to whatever the "exciting" news is.

Peter - It's actually not that big, much to my consternation.... I think it is about 9 x 11 at 300 dpi. ometimes I start pieces smal, as sketches, and occasionally forget to up-res before going to final.... this may have been ne of those cases. My brain is hit or miss sometimes.It's big enough for a decent-sized print, but nothing too impressive.
Marc - I dunno, am kinda in to the saturated color thing. I love Rackham, don't get me wrong, but I like the idea of illustrations looking like little shining jewels from a distance.... I had this notion when I went to seN.C. Wyeth's pieces in the BRandywine museum. I really liked looking at them from a distance.
That said, there is no harm in experimentation, so I could certainly give it a whirl.
Juan - I'm a fan of Froud too. I like all that dark fairy-tale stuff.
Ben - Thanks man. Not really "news", I was just sort of implying that I am goin to be attempting to crank out more personal work in the coming months. I have several pieces "i the wors" as it were....
This looks wonderful. I love the colors and style in this piece. The lighting feels great.
