Hey everyone, here are a few more Wizards for the book. Things are coming along at a good pace now. I am starting to put together the sketch pages for the printed Sketchbook. That will be the first thing I print and I am considering unveiling it at next year's Spectrum Live. More on that later.
Also, check out this interview I did with Lloyd Harvey's site: "Inside the Artist's Studio". Lloyd told me to actually picture him as if he was James Lipton asking me these questions off of a blue notecard.

Thank you!!! Here's a Birdfish!
So, my Kickstarter campaign ended on a really high note, a 25k note! That's right, in the last minutes of my campaign, I reached 25k, which means that I will be producing a Gateway fiction anthology, with the help of several writers who will be writing short stories ofor the book. More details on this later.
Thanks to everyone that pledged, tweeted, posted, and/or told their friends about my campaign. I couldn't have asked for better results, and more updates will be forthcoming.
On a related note, I was recently interviewed by Dave Rapoza and Dan Warren on Dave Rapoza's livestream: Crimson Daggers. You can check out the entire interview HERE!
Finally, here is a pencil sketch of a piece that will be going into the Book of Wizards, I present, the Birdfish:

My Kickstarter campaign has launched!
Hey everyone! Exciting news: I have launched a campaign on Kickstarter called "Gateway: The Book of Wizards"!
If you like my artwork, then you are in luck because this project is a book that I am attempting to self-publish filled with my personal artwork. It features many of the pieces you have seen here on my blog, as well as new pieces. It will take me about a year (I am guessing... you know, what with the full-time job and all), and I am planning on unveiling it at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2013.
So, check out the video, send it to your friends, etc, and if you like the idea enough, show your support by pledging... you will get stuff in return..... in most cases, the actual book!

My article in ImagineFX is on the shelves!
Hey everyone, the latest issue of ImagineFX that features my article on "how to paint like Arthur Rackham" (not presumptuous on my part or anything) is ON THE SHELVES at your local Barnes and Noble or bookstore formerly known as Borders..... Go check it out!
I have intentionally made the image here small so that you aren't tempted to just settle for reading it on my blog.... (well, and there is SO much more info on the next 2 pages anyways), PLUS the magazine includes a DVD that has PSD files, and a video of the entire process of creating this piece... please support ImagineFX, it is an amazing resource!

Books with my art!

Hey all, just wanted to remind everyone that Spectrum 18 is finally out! In it you will find a nice full-page treatment of my "Wizard Alley" piece on page 268 (As well as nearly 300 pages of other incredible artists in the fantasy and Sci-fi genre)! Woohoo! You can buy it here on amazon:
Also, while I was at IlluXcon, I ran into awesome artist Jim Pavelec, who gave me my complimentary copies of his new book "Hymns and Wretched Offerings to the Golden Ones", which features 3 pencil drawings of mine. It's an amazingly beautiful book, and well worth buying, though you should hurry because there are a limited number of editions as I understand it. You can get it one of two ways, either from Amazon:
That is all. More sketch pages coming soon.
